SITREP: Environmental justice decisions are impacting the ability of regional infrastructure projects from proceeding. Activist groups are becoming increasingly involved in sophisticated legal challenges as well as demonstrations to interrupt or stop energy development, in particular.

RECOMMENDATION: Be prepared to experience increased delays in energy infrastructure projects if they pass through or otherwise impact Native American reservations, historically minority neighborhoods or various other protected categories the EPA has identified in their environmental justice standards.
