There are daily anti-police and Black Lives Matter protests scheduled to take place in Austin, Texas.
SITREP: The daily protests are scheduled to run from 2 August until at least 9 August. The demonstrations will begin at 1800 and continue to at least 0000.
The protests will be focused on Austin PD headquarters: 715 E 8th St
And the State Capitol: 1100 Congress Avenue
RECOMMENDATION: Protests in Austin over the weekend were met by a large police presence. Still, some protesters did manage to harass patrons eating outdoors at restaurants, and cause heightened tension in the area. Moreover, these Antifa-BLM protests are expected to be met with armed counter protesters/security forces.
The recommendation remains to avoid Austin, specifically the area around Congress Avenue.
