Seattle, WA / September 14, 2020 / 06:00 / Multiple Large Forest Fires Throughout the Pacific Northwest Region

SIGACTS/SITREP:  Several large fires currently in the Northwest are posing significant dangers to communities near the fires and causing unhealthy air quality conditions throughout the region. The smoke from the fires has been most intense in Oregon around Salem and Portland but the smoke is also impacting areas in Washington and Idaho. The smoke is expected to travel east of the Cascade Range during the week of 9/14/2020.

RECOMMENDATION: Avoid outdoor activities for as long as air quality concerns remain an issue in your area. If you are in the immediate vicinity of any fires, confirm your evacuation route in advance and follow Ready, Set, Go evacuation protocols as soon as they are communicated by local authorities (check your local county or sheriff’s department website and Facebook pages for updates).
