Four-member board will vote to certify Michigan’s election results.
Protesters were gathering near the state Capitol on Monday morning in advance of the meeting. An electronic billboard nearby in downtown Lansing from the group Prosperity Michigan reads, “We voted. We counted. Next step, the state State Board of Canvassers certifies the results.”
Washtenaw County Democrat Party and U.S. Representative Debbie Dingall (D) have issued a Call to Action in an attempt to solicit people to send form letter, speak at the meeting and email the two GOP commissioners. 760 AM reported more than 700 people signed up to speak.
Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield referenced the possibility of a “constitutional crisis” If :
- there were to be a 2-2 split on the State Board of Canvassers
- the Michigan Supreme Court didn’t issue an order to certify
