Wilderness First Aid

Backcountry hiking

Outdoor activities can be a lot of fun, but they also pose significant risks that are compounded by being in a remote location, far from your home, vehicle or EMS services. Fortunately, there are some relatively simple things you can do to be prepared for such an occasion.

Knowing how to assess and treat a medical emergency or a traumatic injury in a remote area can make an important impact on those around you and the broader community. Here is a great opportunity to invest less than two hours of your time to become the solution to injury and trauma in remote locations.

“Wilderness First Aid” is a one hour, forty minute video training course that you can take on your own time to learn this critical skill. It is part of an educational course series that has been created to provide free lifesaving information and training.

ICSAVE offers online video training as a part of their Immediate Responder Campaign. ICSAVE was founded on the core belief that every citizen, when provided with appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities, can protect his or her communities from preventable injury and death.

Indeed, you too can become an Immediate Responder. Watch and learn!
